The Terengganu Quran College began with the establishment of the Terengganu Quran Institute in 2005. It initially operated in temporary premises at the Seri Iman Complex, Terengganu Department of Religious Affairs (JHEAT), before moving to a new building at the Padang Midin Campus in Marang, Terengganu on January 1, 2008. The academic programs offered at KQT include a Diploma program for SPM graduates and the Al-Furqaan study program.
The Terengganu Quran College is a private higher education institution registered with the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and is fully owned by the Terengganu State Government. KQT operates under the registration certificate of the Terengganu Foundation College, owned by Wawasan Wibawa Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Terengganu Foundation.
